ColorBurn – dashboard widget for designers

Daily Color Palettes from Firewheel Design

Stumbled upon this widget a few months back, and I’m glad I did. It’s been a timesaver as well as a buttsaver. If you’ve ever found yourself slumped in your chair wondering about the “ideal color palette” for that latest job you’re working on, well, ColorBurn will come in handy. Not only does it provide you with a visual, but the hexadecimal values too. What a deal. And if you don’t have a Mac, no problem. ColorBurn is now available for Yahoo! users…yahoo!

My only beef is that it can be a bit quirky at times. For some reason it has a hard time refreshing for the new day and I’m stuck with yesterday’s color palette. However, I’ve found that a quick toggle with the pop up menu seems to do the trick.

The gist: a new color palette every day featuring four colors
